some naval jelly, wait 30 mins or so and rinse it off. Repeat as needed. Can also use some fine steel wool with the naval jelly as long as you work it while it's still wet. FYI: I was able to do a good job on the brake booster after sanding and the naval jelly -- applied some gray body primer and top coated with SEM 39143 Trim Black. It's nearly a perfect match to OEM flat black - have used it on other cars too, most excellent...( but usually needs to be ordered on-line, haven't seen in stores ) .
